How to troubleshoot dead laptop / notebook

Follow the following steps to troubleshoot dead laptop / notebook:

1. Check and make sure if your AC adapter is working propler by checking if the power light is on. If you have the multi-meter, check the voltage.

2. Press and hold the power button for about 6 seconds. If the power light continues to flash, disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.

3. You need to wait for several minutes after taking out the battery and reconnect the AC adapter and press the power button. If the laptop works, shut it down and disconnect the AC adapter, install the battery, and reconnect the adapter and press the power button. If the power light flashes but the laptop does not turn on, you may have a defective battery.

4. You can try to let the battery charge for at least 20 minutes to see if the light stops flashing and stays on steady. If these steps don't work, let me know and i will try to help further.

5. If all above steps fail and if your laptop has reset button, you press and hold it for about 15 seconds. Then try to re-start your laptop.

Tip:

If you find that your battery has problems and your laptop power indicator flashing, you can leave the battery with AC power connected for several hours. Your laptop might get back to work again.
