How to troubleshoot computer monitor guide and tips


Computer monitor problems can cause due to many reasons. Some problems have nothing to do with the monitor itself. The following are some common problems and troubleshooting techniques:

1. When the the green light of computer monitor fails to blink, it indicates that there is no power attached to it. You need to check out whether the monitor plug is properly attached to the main power switch or not, or if the cable is damaged.

2. When the light of the monitor is turned on, but it fails to work, that is, there is no image on the monitor screen. In this case, it is better to check the resolution settings. It could be possible that the brightness and contrast settings were accidentally changed, thus turning the screen pitch dark. You should know that if your video card gets problems, you will also see the black screen.

3. Poor picture quality is yet another common PC monitor problem. The image on the screen may appear blurry or distorted at times. You can try to fixing this problem by restoring the default setting of the screen resolution. Some computer screens are not able to clearly represent images which have a relatively higher screen resolution. In such cases, it is better to check the resolution settings once again so that the monitor can show the image clearly.

4. Jumpy or wavy images on monitor screen. You need also check out whether the problem is caused by electrical interference. Try to move any speakers, radios, fans or other items that can cause electrical interference away from the monitor. A long monitor cable easily gets electrical interference.

Please note that the humid air is another cause of your monitor problem.
